Help

How parents run the family account, and how students practise — in short.

QuestLens is a family app. A parent creates the account and pays. The student practices. Use the sections below for the screen you are on.

Getting started

Getting started

  1. A parent (18 or older) signs up. Students cannot create their own account.
  2. On the dashboard, verify email and phone, then save your address. You cannot add a student or pay until this is done.
  3. Add your child (name, email, password, date of birth). Confirm you are the parent or legal guardian. Photo doubts stay off until you turn them on.
  4. Choose a plan and pay. Practice starts after the plan is live and the exam’s question bank is ready.
  5. Give the student their login. They sign in and open Home.

For parents

Dashboard

This is the family hub: students, plans, privacy, and AI. Complete the account cards first if they are still showing.

  1. Add Student — disabled until email, phone, and address are ready.
  2. Login details — show the child’s email and password (only if this session still knows it), copy them, or set a new password. Reset needs your email verified.
  3. Assign plan / Pay & activate — pick a plan and seats, then pay with Razorpay (full or monthly when offered). Monthly bills whole billing periods only; leftover days after those periods are included in the last month, not billed as an extra installment. Unpublished exams stay on the plan but students will not see them yet.
  4. Renew, Pay, or Pay installment — when a plan is in the renewal window, overdue, or a monthly installment is due. Missed monthly payments pause access after a short grace period.
  5. Cancel access — removes this child from the plan. There is no refund. On a multi-seat plan, siblings keep access. Unpaid installments are cancelled.
  6. Privacy — date of birth plus four consents: AI tutoring, adaptive practice, parent progress view, and optional photo doubts.
  7. Pause AI tutor / Resume — immediately stops or restores explanations, Doubt Lens, and coaching reports.
  8. Export data — downloads a JSON file of that child’s learning data.
  9. Delete student account — removes the child and learning data. Payment history stays with you.

Add student, assign plan, and pay stay locked until the account is complete. Cancel access and password reset need a verified parent email.

Payments

Pay overdue plans, renew before they lapse, pay monthly installments when due, and review charges. Pending checkouts do not unlock practice.

Payment history shows completed and failed charges. Abandoned checkouts are hidden and never grant access.

After a successful payment you can open a GST tax invoice and a payment receipt (also from each completed row in history). On phones, the PDF opens in the system viewer so you can Share or Save to Files.

  1. Pay or Renew on a due row. Checkout uses Razorpay (or a local no-charge path in development).
  2. If a charge went through but access did not update, use Check payment status before paying again.
  3. History lists recent payments: plan, amount, status, date, invoice number, and payment id. Use Invoice or Receipt on a completed row.

You cannot pay until email, phone, and address are complete. Finish that on Dashboard or Profile.

Progress

Pick a child, then see attempts, weak topics, Today’s path, a concept map, an AI coaching report, and Doubt Lens summaries (topic and date, not the full chat).

  1. Open a student from the list.
  2. Filter by exam when more than one is on the live plan.
  3. Generate or refresh a coaching report after the student has finished at least one attempt.

Progress sharing must be on. A live plan is required. Today’s path needs adaptive practice on. Coaching reports need AI tutoring on and not paused.

Profile

Your own account: name, email, phone, address, and the user-agreement version you accepted.

  1. Resend a verification email if needed, then tap I’ve verified after you confirm the inbox.
  2. Save or change phone with an SMS code.
  3. Save or update address (street, state, city, PIN).

For students

Your first steps

What it is
Everything you need to know to get going on day one.
Why it helps
You will feel confident from the moment you sign in — no guessing, no dead ends.
  1. Open the app and sign in with the email and password your parent gave you. You do not create your own account.
  2. You land on Home. If a banner asks you to verify your email, open your inbox, click the link, then come back.
  3. If you see a short placement quiz, take it — it is not graded. It just finds where you are so the app can suggest the right topics.
  4. Once placement is done, Today's path appears on Home. Tap it to start your first practice session.
  5. After practice, try Mock for a timed test, Previous-year papers for full exam practice, or Doubt Lens to ask a question about anything you are stuck on.
  6. Check Performance any time to see your weak topics and how far you have come.

Home

What it is
Your starting page after you sign in.
Why it helps
You see what to do today instead of guessing which chapter to open.
  1. Pick your exam if you have more than one. The page remembers the exam you last used.
  2. Follow Today’s path when it is there, or open Practice, Mock, previous-year papers, or Doubt Lens.
  3. Finishing a card marks it done, including a Talk it through session. When you finish everything, you get a fresh path for the day.

If buttons are missing, the plan may not be live yet, the exam may not be published, or the question bank may still be loading. Verify email if a banner asks you to.

Placement

What it is
A short timed quiz. It is not a scored mock.
Why it helps
It finds where you stand so Today’s path can start on the right topics.
  1. Take placement from Home, or skip if the page offers skip and come back later.
  2. Answer as you go. You see if you were right, then continue until it finishes.

Practice

What it is
A short set of questions with instant feedback.
Why it helps
You fix weak ideas in small steps, with help when you are stuck.
  1. Choose an answer. You see Correct or Incorrect right away.
  2. Use Explain if you do not understand, Similar to try the same idea again, then Next or Finish.

Mock

What it is
A short timed paper. Answers stay hidden until you submit.
Why it helps
Exam day feels familiar — including negative marking when that exam uses it.
  1. Answer the listed questions. You can change a choice until you submit.
  2. Submit before the timer ends, or it submits for you.

Previous-year papers

What it is
Full papers in the original order, timed like the real exam.
Why it helps
You get used to paper length and pacing, not only short quizzes.
  1. Pick a paper from the list. Continue if one is already in progress.
  2. Work through the paper, then submit when you are done.

Doubt Lens

What it is
A tutor chat on one topic — guided, viva, or study buddy.
Why it helps
You can unpack a concept that is not clicking, in a conversation instead of a test.
  1. Choose subject, topic, and mode, then start. Coming from Today’s path sets the concept for you.
  2. Each session has one goal, shown at the top. When you have it, the session wraps up on its own and shows your feedback.
  3. You can also end it yourself any time with End session.

If chat will not start, a parent may have paused AI tutoring. Photo upload appears only if a parent allowed photo doubts.

Results

What it is
The score (or a placement map) after you finish a set.
Why it helps
You see what you got wrong and can still ask for an explanation.
  1. Read the score or the “where you stand” list after placement.
  2. Open a question to review it. Use Explain if you want the steps.

Performance

What it is
Your weak topics, concept map, attempts, and a coaching report.
Why it helps
You know what to practise next and can jump straight back into it.
  1. Open a weak topic to practise it, or generate a report after you have finished attempts.
  2. Continue, finish, or view results for a listed attempt.

If something is blocked

If something is blocked

Most locks are account setup, the plan, or a privacy choice — not a broken page.

  • Cannot add a student or pay

On Dashboard, verify email and phone, then save your address.

  • Student cannot start practice, mocks, or Doubt Lens

Verify the student email from Home. Confirm a live plan and that the exam is published with a ready question bank.

  • No Today’s path

Turn on adaptive practice in the child’s privacy settings on Dashboard.

  • No Explain, Doubt Lens, or coaching report

Turn on AI tutoring, or tap Resume AI tutor if it is paused.

  • No photo upload in Doubt Lens

Turn on optional photo doubts in privacy. It stays off until a parent allows it.

  • Parent progress page is empty

Turn on parent progress view for that child.

  • Cannot cancel a plan or reset a child password

    Verify the parent email first.
